Whether miniaturization, customization or Industry 4.0, there are many requirements that modern sensors have to meet. So at SPS IPC Drives, Contrinex presents sensors with a variety of operating technologies that are ideal for these applications. The focus is on small photoelectric sensors with 4 mm diameter or M5 thread, but safety and inductive sensors are also in focus, as is the topic IO-Link.
With a diameter of just 4 mm or an M5 thread, the new photoelectric miniature sensors in stainless steel of the D04/M05 series for presence control require minimal installation space. They work with visible red light, which allows for easy adjustment, and the through-beam types are suitable for sensing ranges up to 500 mm. Sensitivity can be adjusted by teach or remotely via IO-Link. With a maximum switching frequency of 2.5 kHz, the miniature sensors allow fast cycle times and high throughputs. At SPS IPC Drives, photoelectric sensors in cubic C23 housings will also be shown, which reliably detect even transparent objects such as glass with UV light.
RFID read/write modules with IO-Link
There are also innovations in high-frequency RFID: in addition to the tried-and-tested ContriNET and USB read / write heads, this time the devices with an IO-Link interface are particularly noticeable. They combine two communication standards that are important for Industry 4.0: ISO 15693 at the air interface and IEC 61131-9 at the M12 connector. This enables extremely easy integration into the plant environment.
Robust inductive sensors for use up to 230°C (446°F)
The proven inductive standard sensors in sizes M8 to M50 from Contrinex are now also available as high-temperature sensors for applications up to 230 ° C. With silicon-free construction, outstanding service life and switching distances of 2 to 25 mm, the inductive sensors are suitable for use in metal and glass production as well as for applications in baking or painting ovens.
If exceptionally robust and chemically resistant sensors are required, the EXTREME inductive all-metal sensors provide a solution. Thanks to a one-piece stainless steel housing (V2A / AISI 303) with a hermetically sealed cable outlet, they withstand chemical influences and pressures of up to 100 bar. They recognize both ferrous and non-ferrous metals with factor 1 on steel and aluminum.
RFID and magnetically coded safety sensors for door protection
The sophisticated range of Contrinex Safetinex light curtains and light barriers has now been supplemented with tamper-proof RFID and magnetically coded safety sensors. With a compact housing, IP6K9K and Ecolab certification, the safety sensors are ideal for food and pharmaceutical applications. Thanks to their contactless operation, they have no wear and thus long maintenance intervals. For example, doors, flaps and hoods can be monitored without mechanical locks and, if necessary, the system can be switched to a safe mode.
