What is the Teach Widget?
The Teach widget is a core feature within the PocketCodr app that allows you to easily configure switching thresholds on Contrinex smart sensors. It offers an interactive and user-friendly way to define the exact point at which you want the sensor to switch—no manual calibration or guesswork required.

Step-by-Step Guide: Teaching the Switching Distance
1. Mount and Connect
Securely mount your Contrinex smart sensor in its holder and position the target object correctly. Then, connect the sensor to the PocketCodr device using the supplied cable.
2. Launch the PocketCodr App
Open the app to access the main interface, where you'll find:
- Sensor information
- A real-time data graph
- Built-in configuration widgets
- Internal signal indicators
3. Visualize Live Data
Select the Measurement Value and observe the real-time data graph as you move the target closer to the sensor. The app displays live feedback of the measured distance, giving you clear, immediate insight.
4. Teach the Sensor
Navigate to the Teach widget and select your preferred teaching method. In the video example, we demonstrate the Single Value Teach process:
- Move the target to the precise distance where switching should occur
- Tap Teach to set the threshold
- Confirm the value
5. Monitor the Switching Signal
Add the Switching Signal to your live data graph to instantly view how the sensor responds. Move the target back and forth, and watch the switching signal trigger at your defined distance.
